Expanding the Lithium Footprint

Surge Battery Metals is pleased to report the expansion of the Nevada North lithium clay deposit. The company's Phase 2 drilling program is currently underway, with visual inspections confirming the presence of clay horizons similar to those discovered in the 2022 program, albeit over a much wider area. The drill cores extracted from the five completed holes—V, P, M, N, and R—are being sent to ALS labs for assay, marking a significant step in evaluating the lithium content.

Extending the Strike Length

The current drilling program aims to test for extensions of the clay beds encountered in the 2022 drilling. Notably, the average lithium content within all near-surface clay zones, applying a 1,000-part-per-million cut-off, was measured at 3,254 parts per million (ppm). This promising result, coupled with the interpretation of the recently completed geophysical survey, underscores the potential for a substantial expansion of the Nevada North lithium deposit.

Of the eight planned holes in the ongoing program, seven are considered step-out holes from the 2022 program. Notably, drill hole "V," located on a northwest trend, successfully intersected the known lithium clay horizons, thereby extending the strike length of the deposit from 1,620 meters to over 3,000 meters. Building upon this success, the company has applied to replace drill location "U" with drill hole "W," situated 500 meters north of drill location "V." Furthermore, drill location "Q" will remain in place to test the known width of the mineralization, expanding it to 950 meters from the previously indicated 400 meters.

Leveraging Expertise for Deeper Insights

To enhance the understanding of the lithium deposit's potential, Surge Battery Metals has engaged Alford Drilling of Elko, Nevada, to conduct diamond drilling for the remaining three holes. This approach allows for drilling to reach greater depths, enabling a larger core sample for metallurgical analysis and study. The company's Director, Dr. V.J. Mehta, a renowned expert in lithium mining, extraction, and processing, will spearhead the comprehensive analysis of the core samples.

CEO's Enthusiasm for Expansion

Mr. Greg Reimer, the Chief Executive Officer and Director of Surge Battery Metals, expressed his excitement about the ongoing drilling program. With five holes completed so far in the second round of drilling, each intersecting clay layers, the overall known area of clay-bearing horizons has seen a dramatic increase. The incorporation of diamond drilling, along with the addition of drill hole "W," will further push the boundaries of the deposit, unveiling its full potential.

The Nevada North Lithium Project: A Promising Venture

Located in the Granite Range southeast of Jackpot, Nevada, the Nevada North Lithium Project is a key asset for Surge Battery Metals. The initial drilling conducted in October 2022 revealed a strongly mineralized zone of lithium-bearing clays spanning approximately 1,620 meters from drillhole NN2205 to drillhole NN2208. Although the exact widths of the mineralized horizons are yet to be determined due to the north-south alignment of the holes, preliminary data suggests a minimum width of 400 meters, with indications of even greater extent based on highly anomalous soil values.

During the 2022 drilling campaign, the lithium-rich claystone encountered in drillhole NN2207, for instance, spanned 120.4 meters (395 feet) with an average lithium content of 3,943 ppm in four zones. Drillhole NN2208 showcased an individual sample with a lithium content of 5,950 ppm between 45 and 50 feet (13.72 and 15.24 meters). Overall, the average lithium content within all near-surface clay zones, applying a 1,000 ppm cut-off, measured 3,254 ppm.
